Privacy Policy
Last updated July 8, 2026June is a personal assistant service you reach by text message, operated by Municipal Labs Inc ("June," "we," "us"). Depending on your plan, June provides a human assistant supported by AI technology, an AI assistant, or both: on assisted plans, a real person on our team reads your requests and does the work for you, supported by AI systems that help our team operate faster. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who can see it, and the rights and choices you have.
The most important thing to understand
June works by people and technology reading your messages. When you use June, your conversations are received and read by authorized members of our team, including, on assisted plans, your assistant and the team members who support them, some of whom are located outside the United States. Your conversations are also stored and processed by the AI systems and software tools (operated with our service providers) that support the service. By using June you consent to this. If you do not want your messages read by our team and processed by our systems, please do not use the service.
1. Information we collect
- Contact and account details you provide at signup: name, mobile number, email address.
- Messages and task history: your conversations with June and records of the tasks we perform for you, so your assistant can understand requests, act on them, and remember context over time.
- Connected account data: if you connect Google or another third-party account, app, or toolkit, we access the data and take the actions you authorize for that connection, such as email, calendar events, contacts, documents, tasks, messages, or other account content. June may support additional third-party services over time through Composio or similar integration providers. Depending on what you connect or share, this can include sensitive information (see sections 5 and 6 below). You choose what to connect, and you can disconnect a supported account at any time to stop further access.
- Payment and purchase information: your payment method is collected and stored by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers. We keep records of purchases you authorize (merchant, amount, confirmation).
- Usage and device data: IP address, browser details, referral information, consent records, and general service activity, used to operate, measure, and secure the service.
2. How we use information
We use your information to: provide and personalize the service (understanding your requests, acting on your behalf across connected tools, remembering relevant context); carry out tasks and purchases you authorize, including reading relevant information, drafting or taking actions, creating reminders, managing tasks, and monitoring changes you ask us to watch; send you service messages; process subscriptions and payments; provide support; keep the service safe and secure and prevent fraud; comply with law; and operate, improve, and streamline the service, including using conversation and task records to develop our procedures and the tools that support our team.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never use the content of your messages, your task history, or your connected-account data for advertising. Like most companies, we advertise June on platforms such as Meta and TikTok and measure whether those ads work. To do that, our website uses those platforms' pixels, and we may share limited identifiers with them, such as a hashed (one-way encoded) version of your email address or phone number, ad click identifiers, IP address, and browser information, to measure ad performance and to reach people similar to our users. Some state laws treat this as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; you can opt out at any time (see section 9).
3. Who can see your information
- Your assistant and our team. Your assistant, and the team members who back them up, support operations, and ensure quality and safety, can see your messages, the context and memory we keep about you, your task history, and the connected-account information we work with on your behalf. There is no separate private channel that your assistant cannot see. This applies on every plan, including any free plan or trial: authorized June personnel may access your account information, conversations, context, connected-account information, and activity logs through logged, secured internal tools and dashboards, to provide support, debug issues, maintain safety and security, investigate abuse, understand how people use June, improve reliability, develop the product, and operate the service. Access is limited to people who need it for those purposes, and everyone with access is bound by confidentiality obligations.
- International team members. Some members of our team, including contractor assistants located in the Philippines and Latin America, may access your information to provide the service. Wherever your information is accessed, it remains subject to this policy: our personnel and contractors access it through logged internal tools and are bound by confidentiality and least-privilege access controls. Your information is stored primarily in the United States and may be processed in, or accessed from, other countries by our team and service providers. By using June you consent to your information being processed in the United States and these other locations.
- Service providers and AI systems. Vendors process your information on our behalf solely to operate June, under contracts limiting their use of it: Anthropic (AI processing), Composio (connected-account authentication and tool execution), Linq (message delivery), Stripe (payments), analytics providers, and our cloud infrastructure providers.
- Advertising platforms. As described in section 2, we share limited identifiers with advertising platforms (currently Meta and TikTok) to measure and improve our own advertising. They never receive your messages, task history, or connected-account data.
- Third parties, only to do your tasks. When you ask us to complete a task, we share only what is needed to complete it (for example, giving a restaurant your name for a reservation or a merchant your shipping address for a purchase).
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information to comply with law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety, or property of you, us, or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this policy continues to apply and we will notify you of any successor).
4. Google user data
June's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google account data is used only to provide and improve user-facing features you request; it is not used for advertising, and it is not sold or transferred to others except as needed to provide the service, for security, or to comply with law. When you connect a Google account, you authorize June, including the members of our team who help you, to access the data covered by that connection in order to provide the features you request, consistent with these Limited Use requirements.
5. Sensitive information
Your requests may involve sensitive information, for example financial account details, information about your health or your family's health, precise whereabouts, or government identifiers, whether shared in your messages or through services you connect. We collect and use sensitive information only with your consent and only to perform the tasks you request. Your assistant may see it in order to help you. We do not sell sensitive information or use it for advertising. By asking June to perform a task that involves sensitive information, you consent to our collecting and using that information to complete it. You can decline or withdraw consent at any time, and June will still help you with everything else.
6. Health-related information
June is a general-purpose assistant, not a health service, but if you ask, we may handle tasks that involve health-related information (for example, booking or rescheduling a medical, dental, or wellness appointment, or ordering health-related products). We collect this information only when your request involves it and only from you or accounts you connect. By requesting a health-related task, you consent to our handling the health information involved in order to perform it, and June may ask you to confirm before proceeding. We use health-related information only to perform the tasks you request; we never sell it or use it for advertising; and only your assistant, their support team, and the service providers that operate June can see it, solely to carry out your requests. You may withdraw consent, ask what health-related information we hold and who has received it, ask us to delete it, and appeal any denied request by replying "APPEAL" or emailing us.
7. Text messages
If you provide your mobile number or text June, we use it to send and receive service messages from June. The messages you exchange with June are handled by our team and the systems that support them, as described above. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out (we may send one final confirmation), or HELP for help. We do not sell your mobile number, and we do not share text-messaging opt-in or consent records with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Our own advertising measurement is described in section 2.
8. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you cancel or ask us to delete your data: conversation content, context, and connected-account data are deleted within 45 days (and purged from routine backups within 90 days), except records we must retain for legal, tax, security, or dispute-resolution purposes (such as purchase authorizations and consent records), which we keep only as long as required and then delete. Disconnecting an account stops further access to it immediately.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your state, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, delete your information, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of certain uses, including the advertising-related sharing described in section 2. We honor these rights for all US users regardless of state. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
- To exercise any right: text your request to June or email mason@textjune.com. We will verify your identity using your account phone number or email and respond within 45 days.
- To opt out of advertising-related sharing: text June or email us and ask; we will stop sharing your identifiers with advertising platforms.
- Appeals: if we decline a request, we will explain why, and you may appeal by replying "APPEAL" or emailing us; we will respond within 45 days. If you are unsatisfied, you may contact your state Attorney General.
- Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf where your state provides for it.
- Other choices: reply STOP to end messages; disconnect any connected account to stop further access to it; or cancel and request deletion at any time.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information: encryption in transit and at rest; least-privilege, logged access for our team; background checks, confidentiality agreements, and data-handling training for human assistants before they receive access; credential vaulting rather than password sharing, with credentials you choose to share submitted through one-time encrypted links, stored in an encrypted vault, and each access logged and revocable by you; login and verification codes for sensitive account categories are not made visible to your assistant, and June never automatically forwards verification codes; assistant activity on your accounts is logged and subject to review; and vendor security requirements for our service providers. For a plain-language description of these practices, see our Security page. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work continuously to protect your data and limit access to it, and we will notify you and regulators of a breach as required by law.
11. Children
June is for adults. The service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes we will notify you in advance by text and/or email before the changes take effect, and where required by law we will ask for your consent. The date above reflects the current version.
